Introducing the Team Leanne - Position// Salon Owner & Senior Stylist
Leanne has been Hairdressing for over 35 years having done her training & worked for a variety of salons in Auckland City for over a decade, then working & living in East Auckland where she ran her own business there for 11 years while she raised her 3 children. Seeking a better work/ life balance she moved to Thames nearly years ago and is loving being a part of a vibrant community. Leanne is confident in all Hairdressing services and is a precision cut & colouring specialist with a strength in all blonding techniques. She keeps up to date with current trends attending courses regularly out of town so that she can pass on her knowledge to the team. Leanne also enjoys Hair-ups & Styling utilising these skills for weddings, Balls & Photo Shoots in the local area & wherever possible has supported local events including the Steampunk Festival.
Sophia- Position// Senior Stylist
a fully qualified Hairdresser, Sophia is our star colorist creating a range of beautiful looks for her clients, her makeovers are stunning. Have a look at our social media to view her work. Sophia is available for all hair services feel free to book a free consultation. Not only is Sophia one of our busiest Colourists she has also found time to build our Walter & Co website , she is a regular contributor to our social media pages on both Instagram and Facebook. Sophia enjoys new career challenges including up- skilling and participating in Hair competitions.

Walter & Co Hairdressing is located centrally in the main shopping area Pollen Street in Thames, Coromandel.
All the latest Styling & Colouring techniques are available by New Zealand Trade qualified Stylists. Free Consultations are available to discuss your needs, whether it's a minor change or a full makeover you require. We pride ourselves in taking the time to listen, discussing options with you and offering a range of solutions.
We believes strongly in maintaining on going training with staff so that the clients can receive the latest styles & techniques.
Services available include precision cutting & styling, all aspects of colouring including Balayage & Vivid colour, Straightening,- both permanent & Keratin Smoothing treatments, hair ups & a large selection of deep conditioning treatments including bond building treatment for damaged hair.
At Walter & Co Hairdressing we provide high quality personal service in a friendly relaxed environment.
We also have a shampoo shop, stocked with Joico, Pure, Juuce, Lust, De Lorenzo Novafusion and a wide range of accessories and hair tools

We here at Walter & Co are passionate about our careers in Hairdressing and believe in passing our skills on to a new generation, this has never been more important particularly at a time when there is a national Trade shortage all through the country for all trades with Hairdressing also being affected. As Trade Certified Hairdressers we have a responsibility to keep improving our skills through education not only at apprenticeship levels but throughout our careers so we can offer our clients the best experience they can have,It is an added bonus to work with teenagers (not always easy) but seeing them facing and working through challenges gaining experience and confidence it is a joy to see them grow.
We are open Tuesday to Friday with a late night on Tuesdays (Till 6:30pm)and Wednesdays (Till 8:00pm).
